Sushmita Saha, Dhaka – Bangladesh Bank (BB) today launched a person-to-person (P2P) transaction service via ‘Bangla QR’, simplifying the digital payment framework just four months after introducing the Customer-to-Merchant (C2M) Bangla QR platform. According to a central bank statement issued today (November 1, 2026), individuals can now transfer money directly to another person in a quicker, easier, and secure way simply by scanning the recipient’s QR code.
“The service eliminates the need to manually enter the recipient’s mobile phone number or bank account details. Instead, users can seamlessly complete transactions by scanning the QR code and verifying the transaction amount,” the statement read.
Central bank officials noted that the initiative is expected to reduce public dependence on physical cash, make daily peer-to-peer transfers more convenient, and significantly accelerate the country’s transition toward an inclusive, cashless society.
